Goliath Must Fall P1
Passage: 1 Samuel 17
Goliath Must Fall
Everybody loves an Underdog.
Goliath is near-sighted.
43 He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”
1 Samuel 17:43-44
Goliath is Powerless at a distance.
A Slingshot is no Toy.
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
1 Samuel 17:34-37
God is Powerful.
17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4
What is Your Giant?
"His methods are dirty; hs motives are disgraceful. He has no moral integrity and will adapt anything to suit his purposes and use anybody to further his ends. His scruples are non-existent. He is unmoved by pain and unconcerned by anguish. He feeds on famine and builds on destruction. He is filthy in his intent and formidable in his ability."
